Our Beginning: A Foundation of Trust

Our story started when Dr. Johnson moved to Kalispell and opened his dental practice with one simple goal — to provide honest, compassionate care for his neighbors. Over the years, his commitment to integrity and personalized service made him a trusted name in local dentistry. Patients became friends, and the office became a place where families felt truly cared for — generation after generation.'

A New Chapter: Carrying the Legacy Forward

After decades of service, in 2016 Dr. Johnson passed the torch to Dr. Dan McAllister and Dr. Sarah Fontana, who shared his same values and dedication to community-centered dentistry. Together, they continued the legacy of small-town care while expanding the practice’s offerings with advanced training, modern technology, and new services.

In 2025, we proudly welcomed our third general dentist, Dr. Riley Scott, to the Montana Dental Works team. Originally from Nevis, Minnesota, Dr. Scott brings advanced expertise in airway-focused dentistry, sleep-disordered breathing, and holistic oral health, along with specialized training from the Airway Health Solutions Pediatric Mini-Residency and the Guided Airway-Supported Protocols (GASP) program. She also completed the Boston MaxiCourse in dental implant placement, further expanding our restorative and surgical capabilities. Dr. Scott’s passion for whole-body wellness and patient comfort enhances the level of care we provide, ensuring every patient receives truly comprehensive, thoughtful treatment.

Today, Montana Dental Works combines the best of both worlds — the warmth and integrity of a neighborhood practice with the precision and innovation of modern dentistry. Under Dr. McAllister’s leadership, our team provides general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry, along with advanced procedures like dental implants, digital imaging, and same-day emergency care.
