Born and raised in Great Falls, Montana, Dr. Dan McAllister grew up with a strong work ethic, a love for music, and a passion for athletics — competing as both a musician and a wrestler at Great Falls High School. He went on to attend Montana State University, where he graduated with honors and earned the prestigious “Award of Excellence” for his outstanding academic achievement and community involvement. He then pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, where he began developing the surgical skills that would shape his career.

Following dental school, Dr. McAllister served as a Captain in the United States Army, where he was one of only two Army dentists selected for the highly competitive Exodontia Surgical Residency. This advanced training expanded his expertise in complex surgical procedures. His service also included a year-long combat deployment, during which he graduated at the top of both the Army’s Air Assault School and the Expert Field Medical Competition.

While selected to further his surgical training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. McAllister chose instead to return home to Montana to be close to family and serve his community. His passion for dental implant care led him to complete advanced training at the Misch International Implant Institute, one of the most respected implantology programs in the world.

Today, Dr. McAllister is dedicated to providing comprehensive dental care to patients in Kalispell, Whitefish, and Bigfork — with a particular focus on oral surgery, implant dentistry, and complex restorative treatment. Outside the office, you’ll often find him exploring Montana’s scenic trails with his dogs or training as a dedicated cyclist.
