Dental Exams, X-rays & Cleanings

At Montana Dental Works, Dr. Dan McAllister encourages patients to visit our Kalispell practice for routine exams, X-rays, and dental cleaning to prevent dental complications. These checkups allow our hygienists to evaluate the health of your gums and supporting bone structure, while also performing a thorough cleaning to remove tartar that gradually develops on your teeth.

In addition to completing an oral dental screening, our Kalispell, MT, dentists will also examine your X-rays for cavities.

Periodontal Health

Periodontal disease, also known as gum disease, develops due to an overgrowth of bacteria in your mouth and specifically affects your gums. When left untreated, gum disease can lead to soreness, bleeding gums, bad breath, and eventual bone loss around your teeth. This bone loss can result in your teeth becoming loose and even falling out.

We offer various treatments for all stages of gum disease, including scaling and root planing (deep cleaning) to remove the bacteria buildup from your teeth and gums.

Restorations/Fillings

If cavities are detected on your X-rays or during your dental exam, we’ll treat them by removing the infected portion of the tooth and replacing it with a tooth-colored filling. This is a routine procedure that most patients will go through at some point in their lifetime. Our Kalispell practice uses custom composite fillings to ensure a stunning appearance and long-term durability.

Extractions

Extraction may be necessary if a tooth is beyond repair due to a large cavity, fracture, or infection. Dr. McAllister performs routine and surgical extractions right here in our Kalispell, MT, office, using local anesthesia to ensure a pain-free experience. For added convenience, he also offers bone grafts to strengthen your jaw and dental implants to replace your missing teeth.
